What does a child-centred approach to complaint handling look like?
Facilitator: Niall Muldoon, Ombudsman for Children & Nuala Ward

The Ombudsman for Children's Office (OCO) has many years’ experience in examining complaints made about a child's experience in primary and post primary schools.

In this session participants will have an opportunity to:

  • learn about how the OCO examines complaints brought to us about schools
  • find out more about child centred complaint handling
  • hear about how teachers and principals can act as advocates and bring complaints to the OCO on behalf of children.
