This seminar will examine how principals can lead on creativity, particularly in the arts education subjects (Drama, Music and Visual Arts). It will consider how schools can take an SSE approach to examine current provision, plan for improvement and enhance pupils’ artistic and creative experiences and outcomes.

Facilitator: Dr. Leo Kilory

Dr Leo Kilroy is a primary inspector in the Department of Education and Skills. He is currently assigned to the Inspectorate’s Evaluation Support and Research Unit. Among his current areas of responsibility are the promotion of the school self-evaluation process and Looking at Our School 2016 within the primary sector. Leo commenced his teaching career in Dublin’s North Inner City and spent time on secondment as an advisor in the support services. Prior to joining the Inspectorate, he worked as Director of School Placement and Deputy Programme Director at Hibernia College.
