The Annual Principals’ Conference will look and feel a little different to other years, as this is the first time in over 10 years that the event is not taking place in Citywest. We are returning to Killarney for the first time since 2009. We are very happy to be returning to the ‘Kingdom’!

The biggest change for 2022 is that conference schedule will be spread out over two and half days. Registration and Education Expo will be open from 8am on Wednesday, November 16th and it will finish at 12 noon on Friday, November 18th. Note there will be no Expo on Friday. Education Expo will end at 4pm on Thursday.

Key Locations
The event will take place primarily in the Gleneagle Hotel and INEC with some breakout/seminar sessions in the Brehon.

Our plenary sessions will be in the Ballroom at the Gleneagle Hotel. All scheduled sessions will be streamed into the Expo area also.

Seminar Locations
Our breakout sessions will be held in a number of different locations in the Gleneagle and Brehon Hotels. This information will be provided to you in your personalised schedule, which will be available on our Event app (details to follow) and via SMS.

Education Expo
Our Education Expo will be located in the INEC Convention Centre. Education Expo is Ireland’s largest trade event for schools attended by companies supplying a full range of products and services for teachers and schools. With more than 130 stands, the Expo will showcase school suppliers over multiple floors over the two days. Education Expo offers a unique opportunity to research products, secure better deals and check out new and innovative products and services. Our Passport Giveaway will be open to all attendees, prizes include - travel vouchers, hotel vouchers, iPads, TV’s and many more.

Note there will be no Expo on Friday. Education Expo will end at 4pm on Thursday.

Registration and Further Assistance will be located in the INEC Box Office - IPPN staff will be on hand to answer any conference queries.

Fast Track Registration
If you are arriving on the Tuesday evening, you will be able to collect your conference badge, which will allow you immediate access to the INEC Expo on Wednesday morning.

Fast-track registration will be open from 6pm – 9pm, Tuesday, November 15th. By availing of the fast-track, you will get to avoid the queue at registration on Wednesday morning.


Tea & Coffee will be available in the Expo Area at scheduled times throughout the event.

Lunches: Our lunches will be available in multiple areas after your selected seminars finish.

There will be hotel staff/guides to direct you to your location i.e. Gleneagle or Brehon hotel, depending on where your seminar is located:

  • Gleneagle Locations: The Flesk Restaurant, Backstage Bar, O’Ds restaurant and the Green Room
  • Brehon Locations: Danú Restaurant and the Brehon Bar

Conference Dinners
Wednesday Dinner
Our Wednesday night dinner will be a casual affair. It will be hosted in multiple locations with networking/meet-up opportunities throughout, and there will be entertainment in the bar areas.

Conference Banquet – INEC
Thursday evening will see our main conference dinner served in the INEC. It will be a more formal affair with after dinner entertainment also provided. Our exhibitors are kindly wrapping up at 4pm on Thursday to allow for the INEC to be transformed for our conference banquet.

Due to the large numbers attending, we will be surveying conference attendees in advance to ensure we know how many we are catering for each evening, in particular for Thursday due to the tight turnaround time.

Communication during our event

All communication during the event will be courtesy of and our dedicated Conference App. To receive reminders of your chosen seminars and locations, as well as any updates to the schedule, please ensure that you have provided us with your current mobile number and have it with you during the course of the event.

Dress Code
There is no dress code for the event. For those who have not attended an IPPN conference and who may be wondering, typically members wear smart/business casual attire to the event, and some choose to dress up a little for the conference banquet (Thursday night this year).
