1. Is there sub-cover?
The Department of Education have not granted us sub-cover for the conference this year.
2. Does that mean teaching principals cannot go or can we use our principal days?
This is a decision for you and your Board of Management to decide on how best to approach this, of course Teaching Principals can attend conference. The conference is a continuous professional development event, and is classed as a BoM expense and can be taken as one of your principal release days.
3. Can I exclude the Gala Dinner for a reduced conference fee?
Friday evening’s Gala Dinner has been one of the most successful elements of our event. It affords a sense of occasion to Conference with very complementary feedback year on year. The cost of the meal portion of the event is included in the overall price of conference attendance.
€65 is not the cost of the meal – it places a value on the various elements that make up the gala dinner event; after-dinner entertainment, staging, lighting, wine in addition to the meal.
We have worked hard to negotiate quite tightly on the costs associated with the event as well as introducing more components to Conference, and proud to have been able to maintain fees at the 2008 levels. We hope that by clarifying these points for you that you will feel that your best interests are looked after and we can continue to deliver the highest quality event of its kind at the best possible price to our members.
4. Is accommodation included in the €250
No, accommodation must be booked directly with the hotel on 01 4010500. There is a special rate available for IPPN Conference 2017.

Yes, the conference is a continuous professional development event and is classed as a BoM expense.
